Department of Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science, Nabadwip Vidyasagar College was established in the year 2019 as an honours course. Honours course follows the 2018-19 UGC recommended Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) curriculum along with the semester pattern. At present there are four faculties in the department. The department provides laboratory facilities to meet all corners of the curriculum. The Central Library facilities can also be availed by the students. Smart classroom facilities are also there. The Department gets involved in various extra-curricular activities like seminars, webinars, wall magazine publication, educational excursions, cultural programs, annual sports meet, NCC and NSS activities. Many of the students of the department have qualified JECA and other entrances for pursuing Master Degree while others go for job in various Government & Private sectors.

Today we are living in the era of Computer. The study of Computer Science offers the students the job & research opportunity in various sectors. The purpose of the B.Sc (Honours) course are ~
- Develop ability to analyze problem, identify and define the computing requirements, which may be appropriate to its solution.
- To prepare students to undertake careers involving problem solving using computer science and technologies.
- To prepare students with the knowledge related to Laboratory based studies.
- Develop ability to pursue advanced studies and research in computer science.
- To produce entrepreneurs who can innovate and develop software products.
- To shape the foundation for Higher courses (MSc, MCA, MTech, MPhil, PhD) in Computer Science & its allied fields. The Department of Computer Science of Nabadwip Vidyasagar College has fully equipped air-conditioned programming Lab, Digital Electronics Lab & Microprocessor Lab to meet the needs of the course curriculum. The department also has a departmental library to cater the needs of the students.
