Department of Economics, Nabadwip Vidyasagar College, is not only one of the oldest departments of the college but also in the Nadia district in West Bengal. The basic strength of our department is the faculty strength. We have 75% of the total faculty strength sanctioned for our department. It provides both Honours and General Courses at the undergraduate level. It owns a very rich departmental library with regular online contribution on recent development from its faculty. Not only that Central Library of college has also supported a large to our students by fulfilling our students as well as faculty requirement. We have engaged our students in collecting primary data to complete their students’ research project so that they can get the feel of the real economic behaviour of the individual and society at large. We also guide our students to participate in the seminar not only in our department but also in other social science department such as Political Science or History. We maintain an intricate relationship with the department of Commerce so that we can take a broad view in teaching our subject to our students.
