Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU)

Netaji Subhas Open University was established in 1997 by a special act of the West Bengal (W.B. Act (W. B. Act XIX of 1997) in the state legislature of West Bengal. It is a state-open university, recognized by the U.G.C. Nabadwip Vidyasagar College has a recognized Study Center of Netaji Subhas Open University, which was started in 2021. The College has a well-equipped study center with audio-visual classrooms and highly qualified and experienced faculty to provide support to the students who are deprived of getting conventional education facilities.

Student Support Service:

  1. Providing printed learning materials.
  2. Offering contact programmes by dedicated Academic Counsellors.
  3. Broadcasting academic information for the student on different subjects by the University via All India Radio on the 4th Sunday of every month.

Mission

  1. To propagate quality education in flexible mode all over the State and to provide access to different skills-enhancing educational programs
  2. To collaborate with other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) for academic and research endeavors
  3. To provide teaching in the vernacular language, i.e., Bengali, and make it available at a low cost to underprivileged people
  4. To provide the facility of Lifelong education to the intending learners
  5. To contribute to the existing body of knowledge through academic and extension activities
  6. To serve the state and society by informing students about the importance of a humane and progressive society

Vision

  1. To disseminate information among more and more people who could not carry on further studies;
  2. To provide adequate information using different channels viz., WhatsApp. Mail and college website etc.;
  3. To take initiative for introducing ‘Graduate Courses’ so that the higher education seekers may pursue in UG courses
  4. To create a congenial academic atmosphere in the Study Centre;
  5. To respond to the queries raised by the learners without hesitation;
